Media-X Composer

MediaX composer is a web application that works in combination with the MediaX mobile app. The composer has several media editing features and it can sync media and the files generated by the user with the mobile app. The product is geared towards people who would like to create rich  and interactive media books.

To comply with my non-disclosure agreement, I have omitted and obfuscated confidential information in this case study. All information in this case study is my own and does not necessarily reflect the views of ROVI Corp.

The biggest challenge with this project is to design a web application that sync's with the iPhone app and delivers a seamless experience to its users. I had to work very closely with the engineering team to understand the constraints related to wireless sync, iPhone OS restrictions, etc.

I was the interaction designer on this project. I have conducted competitive benchmarking, ethnographic studies, and discovery sessions for this product design.

‍One of the major personas included children book writers, instructional designers. We conducted ethnographic research with a few children's book writers and instructional designers to truly understand their problems and therefore design a far better solution.

‍Key Insights from the Research:

• They use different adobe, Microsoft,  Google, and animation products to come up with the output they need.

• Lots of time is wasted in the planning, creation, and evaluation of a screen before it reaches completion.

• Reusability is a big thing for these users.
